Political babble-crap

I am 23, going on 24... and I have no idea what political party I belong to. So what am I? Liberal/Conservative...Democrat/Republican...who knows? Here is where I stand: (warning: I am all over the place)

-Let's get the raciest topic out of the way first... hate me if you wish. I can say with certainty that there was a time in my life when I was the most pro-life person that I knew, but I can't say that is the case anymore. While I, myself, wouldn't take an abortion into consideration under any circumstance... I don't believe that I have the right to make that decision for everyone. Do I think abortion is wrong? YES, for me. However, under extreme circumstances (rape, incest, pregnancy harmful to the mother..etc.) I believe that it would be acceptable to take that action into consideration. Does that make me pro-choice? The sound of those words and my name in the same sentence makes my skin crawl. I do think that abortion as a form of birth control should be punishable in a court of law just like murder... but how do you draw the line? Can you draw a line? I don't know where I stand on this line.

-I understand the reasons for it... I know the pros and cons, however... I am opposed to the war. That is an understatement, actually. I hate it. I think that it was stupid to go over there in the first place. However, I do understand the mass chaos that would likely occur in the event that we just pulled out and left things how they are. What do ya do?

-I think that the healthcare industry is disgusting. Crooks.

-I believe in taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Generously.

- I am pro-welfare, medicaid, medicare, WIC, and the likes of these when used correctly. I know that the situation is all too often abused and taken advantage of. At the same time, I also know that there are people that would die without it. So do you ban the system to punish the abusers of it while neglecting the ones that need it? Again... the line.

- While I am opposed to the War in Iraq, I like Barack Obama's stand on the genocide in Darfur. Almost enough to vote for him.

Here are the facts from his website:
"Stop the Genocide in Darfur: As president, Obama will take immediate steps to end the genocide in Darfur by increasing pressure on the Sudanese and pressure the government to halt the killing and stop impeding the deployment of a robust international force. He and Joe Biden will hold the government in Khartoum accountable for abiding by its commitments under the Comprehensive Peace Accord that ended the 30 year conflict between the north and south. Obama worked with Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) to pass the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act in 2006. "

There are plenty of other racy things that I think about daily, but that is enough for now.

I admire your courage to put your views out there. I'm surprised (pleasantly) that no one has chewed you out yet.

Though I land a little differently on some of these, I too fall all across the board. It bothers me that I am expected by many to fall into any camp. I like to think that I am capable of coming up with my own ideas without having to agree completely with any group whether it be religious, political, parenting etc..

I think the face of politics is changing before our eyes. And after working with teenagers for the past ten years and knowing that there is a whole different thinking generation of people coming into their voting rights, I think certain politicians are going to have to change their tactics. Unlike many, I am excited about America's future. Regardless of what happens, we are about the make history.

I have purposely been pretty vague here but I think you know where I'm coming from. I have been avoiding a soapbox on how it's never right to wrong. IE sending out e-mails that are blatant lies just because someone is scared.

But, I know that if you and I could ever get together, we could have fun with this discussion. Which brings me to this question... How do I find info about these races George does?

I am loving seeing these pictures of ya'll. I think you are going to have a wonderful story to share and an appreciation for each other that most of us don't have. I never think to get pictures of just me and Adam. I love ya'll.
