Another Quote that is well-worth sharing...

"It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country,
in defense of us, in wars far away.
The imagination plays a trick.
We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise.
We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray haired.
But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives
-- the one they were living and the one they would have lived.
When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers.
They gave up their chance to be revered old men.
They gave up everything for our country, for us.
And all we can do is remember".

-President Reagan, 1985

This Memorial Day weekend my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost loved ones in battle and those who were wounded in battle. But additionally, with those brave soldiers who are there now... at this very minute... and their families, wives, children and friends that are here waiting patiently for their return.
You can rest assured that they don't need a Memorial Day to remember the sacrifices that these people made.

Beautiful post, Jay. I've seen a number of Memorial Day tributes, but yours tops them all. Nice job.

And to respond to your question regarding the technical specs from my last post:
1. the background is seamless paper and the clouds are painted with white spray paint...and a little light gray. Took upwards of 5 minutes.
2. two lights on the background...two lights behind and to the side of the model. She is lit with a beauty dish (22" reflector). It's a hard light, but a model with great skin can handle it.
There you have it. Happy Memorial Day. And again, brilliant post.
