Finally!

So... what do you do when you have blogger's block? You catch up on all the things that you were tagged in. A WHILE back my sweet friend, Dana gave me this awesome award. (Because, apparently she thinks I rock!)
Here are the Rules...
"-If you receive the “Rock on Sistah Friend” award, you must post the button on your blog (in sidebar or in a post), and link back to Color Me Untypical.

-Let Jia know if you receive the award from someone, so she can add you to our Sistah’s Who Rock Blogroll, and give them a personal “Rock On Sistah Friend!”

-In the post on your blog, you must give the award away to 3 other Sistah’s who you think rock. Post links to their blogs, why they rock, and post the rules to the award. Also, let them know you’ve given them the award so they too can celebrate themselves and pass on the love. "

It's really hard to just pick THREE--- but here are some sisters that I think rock!

Haley at Hales: -- (noun) One who is saved by grace Because despite circumstances and things far beyond her control, she looks to the one who controls it all. See, she's a newlywed... but not just an ordinary newlywed. She's the bride of a soon-to-be deployed U.S. Marine. She's been in Cali (which is about 49 states away from everything she knows) for about 3 months. She gets to come home in about 2 weeks, but only because her hubby is going to be gone for 7 months. It's a bitter-sweet thing and she needs to know how much she rocks for the way that she is handling it.

Stephanie at Stoked 2b Stokes Because she just brought a new little miracle into the world and despite lack of sleep and all the things that come with those new little blessings, she manages o update her blog and look fabulous in all of her pictures! Can I just say that Stephanie and I met when we were teenagers under the worst circumstances... and we should not be friends! Who knew that all these years later we would still be?

and Lastly...

Sandi at Wakefield Words because I had the privilege of spending about an hour with her kids yesterday while doing a little painting up at our church. How she has managed to raise such a mannerly, loving, and generous young man (and yes, I said young man... which sounds so weird b/c I have known Mason since he was 3) blows my mind! He dotes on his little sister (who adores hims), is very respectful and has nothing but nice things to say. In a time where kids (especially boys) think that it is cool to be rude and disrespectful... She's doing something very right. Can you make a manual or something, Sandi?

P.S. -- Check out the new link on my side bar, it's a very worthy cause, similar to Invisible Children, just on a much smaller scale.

Aww thank you dear! I'm afraid I'm going to have to be like you, however, and save mine for a later date. Got a 3 day road trip ahead! Pray for me!

P.S. I LOVE your Janey-isms off to the side :)

I came across your blog and I wanted to tell you about another small organization similar to Invisible Children. ChildVoice International was started in NH and works in northern Uganda with child mothers. The Lukodi Centre is home to 29 child mothers and their 38 children and provides trauma counseling, early childhood development, remedial education, vocational training and life skills. A master plan is underway to build a larger campus for 1,000 students. Learn more at www.childvoiceintl.org.

Thanks,

Jenn

Good to catch up on what you're doing, Sistah Friend.

Thanks for the link to oneverse in your sidebar - and for your interest in seeing God's Word make it to the millions around the world who don't have it in their language.

From what I can tell on your blog, you're doing a great job raising Sarah Jane.

Have an excellent weekend!
